Scott Miller
Past President
Scott Miller is a retired trial lawyer who now conducts mediations to help parties find resolution. His involvement with We Care spans nearly 20 years, during which he has served as a volunteer, supporter, and board member.
Throughout his legal career, Scott handled cases involving patent and trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, false advertising, and various business disputes. He also served as lead IP counsel on hundreds of M&A transactions, where he negotiated purchase, merger, joint development, and license agreements while conducting IP due diligence investigations.
Scott finds deep fulfillment in We Care’s mission to bridge families from crisis to stability. He is proud to support the organization’s efforts to prevent homelessness and food insecurity through rental and utility assistance and the provision of fresh and shelf-stable food.
In addition to his work with We Care, Scott has previously volunteered in support of youth sports, the ACLU, programs for veterans, and as a big brother for incarcerated youths seeking parole. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and a JD from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California.
